2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo hits a Hook-Sweep from Reverse-Half-Guard: If your opponent splits your Open/Seated Guard (Butterfly) by stepping his or her lead leg in between your legs, be prepared to initiate a transition to the Reverse Half Guard on bottom if he/she executes a Back-Step; let your near-side-arm pummel deeply behind your opponent's back for a deep Under-Hook while also switching the orientation of your Figure-Four around the opponent's leg. Make a grip on the pants with your far-side-hand and elevate into a reversal by forming a butterfly hook under the nearside-leg. [02:40] If your opponent tries to untangle your Fig.-4 for a Leg-Lock, pass the far lapel skirt behind his or her back and feed it into your under-hooking hand. Employ the same sweep as before, being mindful to not extend your leg too far into your opponent's grasp. Stay heavy on top using the lapel to help work your leg free and pass into the Mount.
