3 Part Lesson -- Marcelo covers a sequence originating from Seated Butterfly: If you cannot readily manage your opponent's hands while engaging from Open Guard, don't let them control your head or find your feet unprotected. Scoot forward and latch onto the opponent's lead leg, finding Shin-to-Shin inside position while holding Single Leg Control. Transition to the Single Leg X Guard Position and twist your opponent down or tilt them backward by controlling the legs. [03:34] If your tries to cut through guard before you can setup the 1Leg X, turn over belly down and hunt for a Single Leg Sweep finish. You may need to chase your opponent down or come up with the leg to finish the sweep by Running-the-Pipe. [07:12] If your opponent sprawls their leg free from your Single Leg Attack, immediately look to recover back your guard. Either find Butterfly, Half Guard, or Butterfly/Half to recompose a defensive position.
