Hand Control and Leg Escape vs Leg Attacks from 50/50 Guard
2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo evades danger to his lower body: Your opponent may try to entangle your leg (Inside-Sankaku, Outside-Sankaku, 50/50, 50-Zero, et al.) from the Deep Half Guard (Shallow Deep Half, Y-Guard, Split Guard, etc.) Position. Immediately, look to disengage from the position by pushing with your hands against the opponent's legs and freeing your knee. Then, use your free foot to kick the opponent's butt until you are clear from any contact. Come up and take top position before your opponent comes up for a sweep. [03:53] If your opponent entangles your leg after a Mount Escape (or from anywhere, really) immediately eject yourself from the position; the action is akin to that of hastily kicking off a boot that's set on fire.
