Leg Drag Pass vs 50/50 Guard
2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo maintains his base against the 50/50: Force your opponent to a modified Leg-Drag Position (Empty-Half, 50-Zero, et al.) when they catch your lead leg in an entanglement. Prevent them from dragging your foot across into 50/50. Cover the opponent's hips and make a grip on their lapel to stabilize the position and work to free yourself out of the control. Claim an underhook after passing; you can expedite your pass by using your free foot to kick at your opponent's Figure-Four. [03:31] If your opponent knock you backwards, catch yourself in base with your knee. Lean forward so you can use your hands to help uncross your foot away from the 50/50 back to the 50/0 (Double-Outside-Ashi, et al.) and push their knee aside for the pass.
