2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo recovers his guard after his opponent breaks through several defenses: If your opponent passes your legs, and shimmies off of your framing hands, immediately pummel your near-side arm in between your head and the opponent's Crossface. Connect your hands together, and build a frame while escaping your hips to recover back your guard. Use your knee/shin or feet to help push your opponent away so you can reset and recompose for another defense. [04:33] If you cannot frame against your opponent's Crossface in time, turn away and seek your opponent's far-arm. If it isn't connected to you tightly, grab it with both hands and clear it away for the Hip Roll Escape. If the far-arm is underhooking you tightly, push at the elbow until there is enough room to pummel back at least one Underhook of your own. Ideally, use both of your arms to underhook your opponent's side so you can slide yourself out the back door with a Ghost Escape.
