3 Part Lesson -- Marcelo uses his favorite frame to defend and counter a pass: If your opponent bypasses your Butterfly-Hooks with a Folding Pass and begins climbing up your torso for a pin, keep distance by wedging your forearm against their neck and shoulder. Stay seated upright as you swing your feet away from your opponent's advance, letting your toes find the mat to help yourself get pushed up into a standing position. Turn and face your opponent to prevent them from reaching around for your back, and apply a Whizzer/Overhook if necessary to wrestle back to neutral. [04:59] If you happen to rise up faster than your opponent, use your Collar-Tie to snap the opponent down into a Guillotine or Front Headlock Position. [08:38] Whenever you are vying to take someone's back from standing and are beside their leg, don't let your weight fall and swing into the side of their knee where it cannot bend. If you are caught standing up in this position with your opponent at your side, do your best to face them or remove your leg from the potential danger.
