Toe Hold Escape, Taking the Back, Seat Belt Control from Back
Lesson Part 1 of 2 -- Marcelo counters a Rolling Toe-Hold: If you are early to defend the submission attempt, use your free leg to kick your opponent's grips off of your foot before they have a chance to secure the lock and roll through for the finish. However, if you miss this chance, immediately scramble towards their back while in mid-roll. Reach out and secure grips on your opponent's backside to help pull them onto your chest while you set both hooks in for the Back Mount position. Stabilize the Back Control by fastening the Seat-Belt Control to keep your opponent from reinforcing the Toehold.
