Lesson Part 1 of 2 -- Marcelo avoids getting finished with The Double Lapel Choke (Okuri-Eri-Jime): If your opponent has Back-Mount and manages to make double lapel grips for the Send-Away Collar Choke, defend by employing a Bridge towards the direction opposite of your opponent's choking arm. Place both feet on the mat and drive your shoulders onto the ground while working to break your opponent's auxiliary grip; keep one of your hands constantly tracking with defensive pressure against your opponent's "top" choking hand. Once your opponent's grip weakens, there are a variety of follow-up options. You may be fortunate enough to spin in towards your opponent and arrive on top. However, if your opponent keeps the top position, looking to seek the Mount, maneuver yourself into at least Half Guard to salvage your position.
