Lesson Part 3 of 3 -- Marcelo reminds his students of the precarious nature of balancing on top in Half-Mount: If your opponent dives under for your leg while also maintaining an Under-Hook from Half-Guard, you must deal with both problems very carefully. You can no longer quite remain kneeling in your position if they try to go underneath; lie on top of your opponent by sprawling your leg far away from their grip. Meanwhile, fight with your elbow, forearm, and hand against their Under-hook until you can create enough space with a frame to pummel back your own Under-Hook. Once you have an Under-Hook established, the threat of getting off-balanced considerably decreases, and it will be far easier to transition towards the Over/Under Pass.
