Marcelo helps Bryan with some Half-Guard tactics: If your opponent performs a Back-Step and forces you to play from a Reverse Half-Guard, protect yourself from the possibility of a Leg-Lock; if they hug around your knee, you can use your hand to push at their biceps to help loosen their grip. Release your figure-four that helps hide your leg from attack so that you can use it to help push off the mat after pummeling for a Butterfly-Hook against their near-side leg. Elevate your opponent as if executing a Hook-Sweep to either get up on top for the sweep or at the very least reset the position back to neutral. If your opponent swings and returns back to the original side of your Half-Guard, make sure your Under-Hook around their waist is secured tightly so that you can use their momentum against them and help carry yourself up onto their back or a Single-Leg.
