Counter to Seatbelt-Control, Rolling Leg-Catch Escape from Turtle-Position

Advanced Lesson Part 2 of 2 -- Marcelo adds a useful variation after rolling from Turtle to Escape his opponent's Seat-Belt Control: One mistake in the Turtle-Position can lead to your end; remain tight in your defenses by keeping your chin tucked and always keeping at least one hand pulling your opponent's choking-arm. After flipping your opponent over with a roll, they may try to reclaim your hips with their legs; this can come by way of either of their legs. Use your near-side leg to help block your opponent from cutting underneath or stepping across for a Back-Hook. If you notice their nearest leg is within reach of your near-side arm, scoop it up and quickly connect your hands together with a Gable-Grip around their leg. Keep your chin safely tucked and use your grip as an anchor to help turn yourself over with bridging weight on top of your opponent. Since you are grabbing onto their near-side leg, they cannot use it to scoot under your raised hips to take your back with hooks. Maintain your positioning for as long as necessary, draining your opponent of the energy needed to keep ahold of their Seat-Belt. When it breaks, come up on top and establish a Side-Control position; remember to hide your arm from any potential pummeling from your opponent for their much needed Under-Hook in bottom position.
