2 Part Technique - After opening your opponent's Closed Guard, you have the option of passing with either the Circle Pass or the Knee Slide. The breaking process for both is the same: Posture upright with a wide base, seizing both lapels in one hand and grabbing his pants at the waist with the other. Turning your elbows out slightly, getting up on your toes, and standing up on the correct side foot. As you rise and take your other knee off the ground, twist your hips to help uncross his ankles from his guard. Once open, pin his knee to the mat with your hand and begin the onset of your pass. You may circle around on your toes into Side Control, or you can cross your shin on top of thigh, pinning his leg before slipping through and entering Underhook & Head Control.
