3 Part Lesson — Marcelo demonstrates three essential recoveries against a standing-passer with grips made on your legs in Butterfly Guard: [I] If your opponent cups your ankles and raises them off of the mat, free your feet by kicking them and circling them outward. [II] If your opponent performs a Toreando Pass, hip escape away enough to swing your foot onto his chest or shoulder to push him away and recover guard. [III] If your opponent lifts your legs and tosses them to the side for Knee-On-Belly, execute the Foot Wipe Escape, bringing your foot onto his chest and kicking him off of you. Remember to collect his hands after the recovery to ensure he doesn't repeat his attack.
