Collar and Elbow Control vs Butterfly, Knee Slide Pass vs Butterfly, Under Hook and Head vs Half Guard, Over Under Pass vs Half Guard
2 Part Lesson — Paul explains a major component in establishing Side Control after a Knee Slide Pass versus the Butterfly Guard: [I] Club your opponent from standing with a strong Collar Tie & Elbow Control as you pierce your knee through the inside of his seated position. Upon landing, keep the arm of the collar tie bent at a ninety degree angle on top of his chest, or plunge the elbow into his armpit, allowing you to connect the Underhook & Head Control. [II] If your opponent blocks your slide and pushes you into Half Guard, gain the underhook by crossfacing with your other hand first before pummeling. Lock up the Underhook & Head Control for the Over/Under Pass; i.e. forcing the opponent's bottom leg to the mat and placing your foot on top of his knee to break free.
