Collar Choke from Closed Guard, Breaking Posture from Closed Guard
2 Part Lesson — Paul reviews a Cross Choke Variation and also teaches a new way to break an opponent's standing posture: [I] Use the blade of your wrist against the side of your opponent's neck to apply pressure for the Gyakujujijime; to secure your other hand, escape your hip out to the side to find the necessary angle for entry. [II] If your opponent begins to stand, with his feet planted parallel, place your hands on his shins and extend your arms, walking your shoulders back to break his base back down to the mat. Once down, break his posture further, making use of the gi, and insert your hand into his collar again for the choke.
