2 Part Lesson — Marcelo shows how not to be 'that' guy, losing a choke: [I] Transitioning to the Bow-N-Arrow will require you to slip your leg out from underneath either from above or below your opponent's belt, depending on which opportunity he leaves you. If you're lying on your opponent's escape-side, reset the position by running N/S and step over into a Technical Mount position to reclaim the choke. However, if your opponent balls up and prevents you from stepping over cleanly, don't be "that guy" and step over anyway, losing the position and getting put back inside guard. Instead, opt to cradle the opponent's leg, securing your grip on anything you can reach except for the choking collar. [II] If your opponent decides to turn on his knees the moment you try to reset the Back Mount, don't disconnect; rather, leap across his back to the Side Ride position where you can reapply new attacks against the Turtle Guard.
