2 Part Technique - Use the same arm crossing technique as with a Rear Naked Choke to defend the armbar. The longer you stay with your back on the mat the worse the position will be for you, so move immediately. You need a strong bridge to create the space needed to twist your hips to the mat. Continue to the top by crawling upwards, while still holding the Rear Naked Choke style control. Stack the opponent and loosen your arm until you can free it. Use a circular motion when freeing your arm and not a straight pull, because you will be vulnerable for the arm bar again.
