2 Part Lesson — Marcelo shares pros and cons of the Arm Trap method: [I] If you are lying on the Weakside of the Seatbelt Control, your top arm will have extra room to help push your opponent's arm down into an Arm Trap with your top hook. However, if your opponent is holding onto you arm to prevent this, you will need to use your top hook without pushing with your hand. If you lack the flexibility to reach his arm with your heel, generate momentum by swinging your foot fast toward his forearm. Moving quickly is oftentimes a good substitute for a lack of dexterity in your limbs mobility. Once you scrape off his grip and trap his arm, use your choking hand to isolate his remaining arm. Use your other hand to pull back his forehead and race for the Short Choke finish. [II] If swinging your leg isn't enough, you may let go of your Seatbelt Grip to help push his arm to meet your foot. Note, this comes at the expense of releasing control over his back so prepare for this possibility.
