2 Part Lesson — Marcelo finds his Over/Under Control: [I] Whether facing an opponent who is in Seated Butterfly or lying back in an Open Guard, dive atop his knee and force for an Underhook and Overhook on each corresponding side. Offset your weight so that your chest projects downward on top of the opponent's arm caught in the Overhook; this can only be accomplished with the affordance offered by the kimono jacket. Place the sole of your foot on top of the opponent's knee and press your leg out of the Half Guard. [II] It is important to align yourself in parallel with the opponent's torso, bringing your shoulders in line with those of his own. If you misaligned after entering into the Over/Under position, adjust your body; however, do so without raising your hips into the air or loading your weight onto the opponent. Keep low and crawl yourself up to the correct position before executing the passing movement.
