The High-Elbow Guillotine Choke
Marcelo points out some of the details behind successfully locking up the Marcelotine; the trick that usually helps students understand the angle associated with the High-Elbow is learning how to bend your supporting arm at the wrist. The technique doesn't rely on shoulder flexibility and if you can post your hand on the mat for a push-up, you have all of the necessary degrees of freedom to correctly implement the choke. Falling on your side for the finish is also an important part of giving your elbow the chance it needs to get as high up as possible for the strangle to work.
