1 Part Lesson -- Paul defines his defensive posture prior to escape: Free your head first before trying to coordinate the other parts of your body for the Side Control Escape. Protect your arms from attack by building frames against the hip and neck, and use the frame to help open up a gap to free space around your head so that you can look inward. Your hands together will protect your chin from your opponent's Crossface and allow you to fully bridge for maximum effect during the recovery.
