Lesson Part 1 of 2 -- Marcelo counters a Rolling Toe-Hold attempt with a Back-Take: If your opponent tries to ensnare your foot while playing flat on your back in an Open Guard (e.g. Tripod Guard, aka; Góes Guard, Foot-On-Hip, Cross Guard, et al.), defend the lock early by pulling your foot back as you stomp and push your opponent away. If your opponent dives toward the mat with your foot locked, use both hands to catch their traps and use the hold to help pull yourself onto their Back. Extend your leg away from their grip while climbing towards Seat-Belt Control.
