2-Part Advanced Lesson -- Marcelo sets up an arm-lock from Butterfly-Guard: After loading your opponent's weight onto your Butterfly-Hooks, forcing them to post their hands on the mat, catch one of your opponent's extended arms by striking your forearm against the outside of their elbow as you drop them back down to the mat. Connect your hands together around their trapped arm with a grip reminiscent of a Muay Thai Clinch, and steer their elbow skyward to prevent it from slipping free. Keep their wrist on top of your shoulder and hollow out your torso, leaving room to pull downward onto their arm towards hyperextension. [1:08] If your opponent attempts to roll out of your first submission attempt, follow up by bringing your far-leg across their chest while maintaining control over their arm. Next, slide your opposite leg's knee directly underneath of your opponent's arm while keeping your hips low to the ground. Take control over their wrist to prevent rotation away from the pressure of the armbar and pull their arm across your lap on the side closest to their feet for the tap.
