2 Part Technique - If your opponent maintains a defensive posture while held in the Side Control with Underhook & Head Control, switch your base by laying onto your hip and keeping tight along his sides. Switching your base in this way give you the room to attack his arms with the Americana shoulderlock. Drive your weight down on top of his wrist, pinning it to the mat. Grab onto your own wrist from underneath his pinned arm, and remove your thumbs from the grips. Apply the finishing pressure by dragging the back of his hand along the mat toward his feet and gradually raising his elbow off of the ground. If he straightens out his arm to escape and lays it against your shoulder, latch onto his bicep and pull him onto his side for the Farside Armbar from Side Control. When the path is clear, step around his head, and pivot on the ball of your foot as you rotate your body to sit down on the other side. Grab onto his wrist with one hand and his gi pants with the other as you raise your hips into the air to hyperextend his elbow.
