This drill is a great way to develop confidence and efficiency in switching sides on your opponent. Here, Henrique adds an overhook along with weaving your hand behind your partner's neck, in order to facilitate balance while swinging your legs during the backstep. Normally, your opponent will opt for a single leg from side control, and you can use this same leg movement to evade the attack and take his exposed back. For the purposes of this drill, land to the other side after the spin with a crossface, and await your partner to turn in to you so that you can employ the next repetition.
