Hip Roll Escape vs Side Control, Hip Roll Escape vs Back Control
3 Part Technique - When you find yourself way behind after an opponent passes, at the very least make sure he cannot establish an underhook or any grips. Break his hands apart from one another, pushing his sleeve as far as possible as you turn onto your side, hiding your bottom shoulder. Go prone, with your knees off of the mat, and roll your hips into him to recover your guard. If you're in even worse shape, and you miss his sleeve, turn over onto your knees regardless for the Hip Roll Escape, but make sure to block him from fastening the Seatbelt. If he runs toward your head while you're turtled for the Hip Roll, redirect your Guard Recovery so that your hips face his torso.
