As long as your opponent cannot connect his hands together for the Seatbelt, you risk no immediate danger from getting your back taken with the hooks alone; It is when your upper back is covered that you need to worry. If your opponent is concerned with setting his hooks first before covering your back, you will have the time to slide your back onto the mat to safety. This window, albeit brief, is predicated solely upon your ability to control one of his arms while he attempts to make the transition. If you can hold onto an arm, the opponent will have a much harder time fully capturing the Back or even establishing Side Control.
