3 Part Lesson — Marcelo answers a common defense to a pass, namely, inversion: [I] Shoot low, underneath your opponent's arms while he is playing Seated Butterfly, and dive into a Circle Pass by hugging his hip with an Underhook (under the armpit/over the hip) and pinning his knee down to the mat as you cut around to Side Control with Underhook & Head Control. [II] If your opponent inverts his body to avoid Side Control, uncross your arms and push his legs away to establish the North/South Position. [III] If your opponent hooks his leg underneath your base and between your legs for Inverted Half, smash his opposite side with a Reverse Underhook and step out of his hook or kick out with the Back-Step Pass.
