2 Part Lesson — Marcelo explains why Sport Jiu-Jitsu is important for Self-Defense: [I] You must develop the ability to react quickly and apply the best option the moment things go wrong. Live Training allows us to practice the need to respond to an imminent threat with coordination and urgency. If your opponent gets past your guard, frame against the pass with your arms and get up onto your side for a Single Leg. If you cannot finish the single, use it to recompose Quarter Guard, then Half, onto Full. If you cannot find the Single, avoid the Crossface; intercept his arm and pass it across for the Elbow Push Escape. [II] If you cannot control his arm for the Elbow Push, rock your legs and hit the Sit-Up Escape back to Guard.
