2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo recovers his guard: If your opponent is running around to your side and closing the distance for a chest-to-chest connection, you may not have to he room or flexibility to wipe your foot in between and lasso out of the pin; instead, chase your opponent's near leg with your outside butterfly hook. Snake your foot inside and activate your toes to help pull yourself back square to face the opponent in your Butterfly Guard. [05:00] If your opponent runs too far away from your hook, turn belly down and catch the near-side leg in a Single. You can rise up with the leg to wrestle or you can catch the opponent with either Butterfly hook depending on which side is closer.
