Breaking Gi Grip from Standing → Single Leg → Sprawl vs Sumigaeshi → Bridge vs Roll
3 Part Lesson — Marcelo counters Sumigaeshi: [I] If your opponent latches onto the back of your gi from standing with the intent of ashiwaza, drop down onto his leg when it approaches and come up with a Single; stay low on the leg, away from his hips and finish the Takedown by Running-The-Pipe. [II] If you sense your opponent sacrificing his position for an overhead throw while you are holding onto the Single, sprawl into his guard and keep your hips low to the ground. [III] If you are at the point of no return and past the apex of the throw, land on your feet in a low bridge to help maintain the top position rather than taking the impact on your back.
