Leg Pull Escape vs 50/50 Entry
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo avoids leg attacks before, and after, breaking open the Closed Guard: [I] If you stand to break open your opponent's Closed Guard, be ready to step up and out of any attempts to lock onto your legs. This can happen to either leg and sometimes one right after the next. [II] If your opponent opens his guard up first to gain the initiative, don't allow his knee to hook underneath yours; use both hands to pull up on his leg and prevent him from entangling your lead leg. Again, this attack may happen to your opposite leg, especially after defending the first one. Touch the opponent after backing out to keep in range for a follow-up attack of your own.
