2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo escapes from the Back: Protect your neck by tucking your chin, and look to control both of your opponent's arms; pinch your elbow to hold your opponent's underhooking-arm and get wrist over the choking-arm. To break the Seatbelt, slip your hand underneath the opponent's grip and connect your hands together, pressing outward until the fingers release. Quickly, block the space around your neck and try to isolate the choking arm underneath your own arm. Choose either side to escape your shoulders to the mat when you can take away the opponent's overhook/choking-arm and trade it for Double-Unders. [03:07] If you cannot gain control over the choking-arm to place it under your armpit, get double wrist control and pass the arm over your head to the opposite shoulder. Turn towards that side by pushing off the ground with your contralateral foot, i.e. posting your leg in a bridge opposite of the side you've passed the opponent's choking arm. Drive your weight back as you spin to face your opponent, remembering to avoid a possible Armbar attack.
