4 Part Lesson -- If your opponent falls from a Standing Closed Guard Break or stays low while you uncross his or her feet, be prepared to yank your lead leg free from the threat of a leg entanglement. Don't hesitate and let your opponent take the time to snare their legs around your knee making it more difficult to escape. Address the problem early before it becomes harder. [03:14] If you're late, use your hands to help push your knee out some and jump out placing your foot against the opponent's tailbone to help eject yourself from the danger. [07:03] Protect your leg from any situation that your opponent may find to entangle your leg. Don't wait to lift your free foot and quite literally, kick their butt to escape. [09:34] You can't wait for your opponent to solidify a lock around your leg; the risk of injury is too high. Avoidance is key when you lack the confidence and skill to stay safe in the position.
