Switch Passing
3 Part Lesson -- Marcelo shows how to switch sides while passing: When you approach your opponent's guard and apply pressure, do so without opening yourself up to counterattack; close the distance but keep your limbs tucked. Have your partner defend the pass but keep you close enough to clear their defense eventually. [04:36] If you cannot pass your opponent's guard easily, try changing directions. Force your pass towards their preferred side, then quickly spring over to the opposite side and begin working towards a pin. If your opponent is still hard to pass, try switching back to the original side when your opponent is attempting to recover from their weak-side. [10:49] Keep track in your head which side gave you the least resistance. Focus your effort towards your opponent's vulnerability until you can crack their defensive shell and score.
