2 Part Technique - Controlling inside at the opponent's biceps will prevent most to all submissions from closed guard. Immediately jump, or step if the opponent is too heavy, to stand and break his closed guard by pressing inside the knee. If he continues to pummel his arms inside to break your control, secure his wrists instead. Continue to stand to break his closed guard.

A lot of times when I look to stand for this pass, my opponent will immediately look to underhook my forward leg. Depending on how things unfold, they will switch to the De la Riva guard, and it is difficult to break their grip because I can't foot circle that leg since it is already too far forward. Is there a specific counter to this leg underhook I should be looking for?
