2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo focuses on finishing the Armbar: Hug and pull your opponent's arm at his or her wrist joint as opposed to their elbow; push their elbow under your armpit and use your forearm to cut into the grip. Use both hands to control your opponent's wrist to ensure the elbow joint is aligned for hyperextension. [02:20] If your opponent tries to take top position while defending their arm, switch your grips so that you have one arm checking your opponent's nearside leg. If you cannot readily find your opponent's hand/wrist to pull, you may need to palm strike your opponent's farside elbow to reveal the nearside hand. Wait out your opponent in the so-called, Spider-Web Position, until your opponent tires from attempting to get up on top and stack.
