Straight Footlock Escape from Open Guard
Lesson Part 2 of 2 -- Marcelo explains details regarding defense of the Botinha: Try to not let go of your opponent's jacket when rebuilding your base against the Straight Ankle-Lock; you may need to post with your hand on the ground to help come up but you will risk allowing your opponent to place your ankle into hyper-extension. Assess the amount of control you maintain in defending the lock before taking any risks that involved releasing counter-pressure against the submission.
