Marcelo & Rob help Orlando with the timing for his Guillotine-Choke from Butterfly-Guard against a kneeling opponent: When setting up for an attack on your opponent's neck, try to get them to take their hands away from their centerline while also lulling them into leaning their exposed head closer to you. This is often best exemplified from a Hook-Lift with Double Elbow Control. If your opponent reacts to the sweep/lift by basing out wide and readying their hands into posts, you will have a window of opportunity to seize their neck in the choke. Once you've clamped down on their neck and found your grip, be ready to defend your opponent's countering guard-passes. Have your feet and knees ready to block your opponent from jumping to a place where they can focus on defending their neck from your squeeze.
