2 Part Technique - Breaking gi grips is important for stopping an opponent's offense. If the opponent holds your knee to prevent 1Leg X Guard, control his wrist and kick out to break the grip. Maybe the opponent will control your sleeve instead of your legs, so use your knee as a tool to break the opponent's grip.

When I enter into single leg X guard the upper belts are holding my lapel on same side as leg on hip with one hand and holding the back of my pants with other grip. I find i cant extend to sweep or make room to switch to X guard. Any advice will be greatly appreciated
