In this technique, Marcelo enters into Xguard from halfguard.

The opponent gives his back then Marcelo secures the Over/Under seatbelt control. The opponent leaves his arm open, so Marcelo obtains the crucifix position. He flattens the opponent out and locks in the RNC.

Marcelo slides his knee through the middle to pass, the opponent turns just for a split second, so Marcelo capitalizes on the mistake by obtaining the seatbelt and putting hooks in.

Marcelo has the Seatbelt back control, then puts his hooks in.

The opponent drives into Marcelo using his underhook to bring Marcelo to the mat. But, Marcelo finds the Guillotine, sinks it in, then finishes by squeezing and dropping his left leg over the back.

Marcelo is in sidecontrol, then lifts the opponent's head to reveal his neck. Marcelo slips on his rear naked choke attempt, but obtains the Over/Under Seatbelt back control instead. He finishes by putting the hooks in.

Marcelo forces the opponents back to the mat, then pressures his right knee through to secure halfguard. Marcelo always positions the opponent's back to mat before passing.

Marcelo is in side control and continues to move around to create openings to attack with submissions. Marcelo then goes to the North/South choke.
