2 Part Technique - The first step in passing the Spider Guard involves disarming your opponent's hooks on your biceps; accomplish this by either whipping your elbow until his foot slips off or try nudging his legs away with your knees. Once you've cleared the hooks, make firm grips on the outside of his knees and toss his legs to the side for Marcelo's version of the Stacking Pass. Keep close and get even closer by re-gripping his collar and pulling yourself onto the Side Control. If he tries to circle his feet inside after you've made your passing grips, re-grip inside his thigh and press his knee to the mat, hopping over his leg to run around for Side Control.
