2 Part Technique - The Knee Slide Pass is a very strong guard pass with limited defenses. The Single Leg from Half Guard is a possible solution to reverse the situation, but if your opponent is stronger and heavier you will have to work something else. Bring your opponent's knee across to the other side and transition into the Shin-In Sweep. You can also use the Shin-In Sweep for an entry to X Guard.

You might be letting your left arm out loose. Keep it tight and close to your body, or under the leg, till you have the option to grab the leg. If they're trying to kimura you once you're deep or almost all the way in, they're unbalancing themselves and you can go out the back door pretty easily.

try hiding the left arm under his leg until you are able to get the hook in. Then lift with the hook and grab his foot for the sweep.

The problem I am finding with the deep half guard is when I am trying to set up his leg for the sweep my opponent is trying to arm lock me.  I am 260 lbs so the guys I am rolling with are heavy also and trying to put their weight on my left arm for the lock.
