4 Levels of Hip-Escape
Professor Paul Schreiner improvises a drill for his Fundamental Level 1 students during the class warm-up exercises. The general idea is that mobilizing your body, particularly your hips and center of mass, can be accomplished in a series of specific ways based on which parts of your limbs contact the ground and support your weight. Escaping your hips can be done while lying supine on your back, recumbent up on an elbow, sitting upright with a full post, and lastly into a Technical Get-Up back to your feet.
