2 Part Lesson -- Marcelo escapes from Back Control: Always tuck your chin and hide your throat from your opponent when they have the Seatbelt, even if you have control over their choking arm. Slip either hand underneath the opponent's grip and connect your hands together; press outward until the grip breaks. Don't let your opponent refasten the Seatbelt; immediately block the space around your neck. If you can isolate the choking arm underneath your arm, you can choose either side to escape your shoulders to the mat. [03:12] Don't chase your opponent's choking arm if they hide it. Remain blocking the space until they attempt to get at your neck where you can then find the arm and isolate it away from a choke. Practice with your partner starting in the Seatbelt Position with both hooks set, and begin live training after you break the Seatbelt Grip.
