Knee on Belly
Marcelo suggests bypassing the opponent's frames after clearing their guard by popping up to Knee-on-Belly. Sometimes you will encounter an opponent with a strong defensive posture that will inhibit you from closing the distance and holding them down after passing their legs. When you cannot readily form a solid connection to their girdle and pin their shoulders, clear the hips with your knees and secure the top position with Ukigatame (Knee-on-Belly, Knee-Ride, Knee-Mount, et al.); this position renders your opponent's framing ability ineffectual.
