Marcelo & Jeremy talk about details for the Elbow-Control Arm-Bar from Butterfly-Guard: Although the submission can be applied with one's feet posting against their opponent's hips, you can also find a finish with the Elbow-Control Armbar by blocking them mid-pass with your bottom shin. Isolate their arm and prevent your opponent from gaining height by fixing your outside heel onto their shoulder while firmly cupping behind their elbow with the palm of your hand. Use your free hand to post against their opposite shoulder and prevent them from closing the distance while you work to hyperextend the elbow. If your opponent is able to bend their arm out of the submission, have your frames ready to prevent them from passing; you may be able to convert the arm-lock into a shoulder-lock by rotating into an Omoplata.
