2 Part Lesson — Marcelo connects several techniques to pass the guard: [I] Point your knee into the DLR hook, break off any collar grips, pin his arm to his chest with 2on1 Control, and vault over his knee to land in ¾-Mount. Establish an underhook on the opposite side of his ¼-Guard to cut your knee across into Side Control or hold his head to pry your leg out into Full Mount. [II] If your opponent prevents you from stuffing his leg in as Butterfly hook to hop over his knee, use both hands to guide his foot under. If he grabs your sleeve when you reach for his leg, immediately break his grip and start the sequence again. If your opponent tries to bump you off of the ¾-Mount, step up beside his head and execute the Leg Over Pass into Side Control with an Underhook. [III] If your opponent pushes you away after hitting the Leg Over technique, spin around into his Reverse ½ or Reverse ¼-Guard to hit the Back-Step Pass. Depending on what he leaves you when you land on top, you may need to gain an underhook or a heavy overhook to pass to the North/South Position.

Thanks for the feedback, Charles; duly noted. We have a character limit for titles, hence the abbreviated versions for the fractional guard-play. I agree, in terms of searchability, they aren't effective yet (as the tagging is new). However, all of the relevant tags for searching previously posted content related to the instructional is provided next to each link. I'll see what we can do to resolve the issue. Thanks again! — Jordan

Great instruction, as always.

If I might request though: Please don't use the ¾ ¼ ½ symbols in the titles and descriptions. They make it more difficult to search on those terms. Using half-guard, instead of ½-guard is far more user friendly.

Thanks.
