3 Part Lesson -- Remove your lead leg from danger after standing up to break open your opponent's Closed Guard by raising your knee up to your shoulder and stepping out. Do the same for your other leg just in case your opponent tries to entangle it and also to reset your lead leg forward. If your knee doesn't free from the first attempt, fall back and kick your opponent's hips in mid-air. Continue kicking once on the ground until you are safe from an attack. [04:42] Don't waste any time held in the position if your opponent captures your leg. Immediately look to jump out of the lock. [09:29] If your opponent scoops your leg while you are kneeling, turn your knee away from the opponent's belly to avoid a Kneebar or Calf Slicer. Kick yourself free and use your hands to help clear your knee from your opponent's lock.
