3 Part Lesson -- Marcelo sets traps for his Rear Naked: When holding Back Mount, maintain control by not only pinching your knees inward together, but also pulling your heels up towards your opponent's hips. Use your choking arm to punch your opponent's arm downward so that you can trap it underneath your leg. Next, beat your opponent's chin tuck defense; wedge your wrist under the chin by turning the key and connect your arms together with a Gable Grip for the Short Choke or connect to your biceps for the Figure-4 Mataleão finish. [03:52] If you cannot turn the key and get underneath your opponent's chin, switch for a Cross-Grip and pull your opponent's head back like a Pez-Dispenser to make space for the choke. [07:15] Whenever you cannot reach your opponent's arm with your hook for the trap, you can switch your Seatbelt to Crosssed-Arms Control (like the double-hand-hold or right-side-wrap of ballroom dancing), where it is easier for your Underhook to help push the arm down into the trap.
